Red millet, like yellow millet, has high taste and is also widely used in the food industry and even in folk medicine. Millet grains contain vitamins A, B1, B2, PP and E, and are rich in protein, starch and a whole range of trace elements, including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, iodine and sodium. 

Millet grain is used to make cereals and flour. 

Millet is also important for fodder, and its grain is a valuable concentrated feed for animals. The husks left over from millet production are used to make animal feed.
