Green peas

Vegetable peas are an annual herbaceous legume and vegetable plant of the legume family.    Vegetable peas are grown to produce green split-beans, which are eaten fresh, and green peas for canning. 

Pea grain contains 20-35% protein, starch, sugars, fat, vitamins (A, B, B2, B6, C, PP, K, E), carotene, minerals (potassium, calcium, manganese, iron, phosphorus salts).

Pea flour is used in the production of concentrated feed. Animals are also fed green mass, hay and straw, which are much more nutritious than grass crops due to their high protein content.
