Millet is a valuable bread, industrial and fodder crop. Millet grain contains 55-58% starch, 10-11% protein, 4% fat, and is characterized by a high fiber content (3-8%). Millet is used to produce cereals, flour, and livestock feed (grain, husks, and straw). Millet is a valuable cereal crop that can provide relatively high and fairly stable yields, even in dry years.
 Millet grain is also used for poultry feed. Millet straw and chaff have better fodder qualities than cereal straw and chaff. Due to its starch content, millet grain is used in the alcohol industry.
